Introduction:
A Thai-Buddhist Cave Temple found in the Bukit Charah limestone outcrop situated north-west of Kuantan towering above oil-palm and rubber plantations. A short climb up a narrow footway leads to the Panching Caves - there are two caves, one on top of the other.
In the lower of the two, which can be reached by ascending 65 meters via 220 stone steps and on iron ladders is a spectacular 9 meter long sculptured statue of reclining buddha. At noon, when sunlight penetrates through a natural opening in the roof, the Buddha figure is lighted up.
Not far away, in a Nature Reserve there you will find Pandan Waterfall, here a series of eight cascading pools beckon. Don't miss a cool and refreshing dip in the natural pool.
